SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – A Southern California urgent care doctor charged with sexually assaulting female patients is still seeing patients while the case progresses in the courts.
San Bernardino County prosecutor Tristan Svare asked that 35-year-old Ramon Fawzi Fakhoury have no patient contact.
But a judge ruled Monday that Fakhoury can examine and treat female patients as long as there is a female registered nurse present.
The San Bernardino County Sun says Fakhoury is on administrative leave from Loma Linda University Medical Center, where a 32-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman were allegedly assaulted in July.
The Medical Board of California asked a San Diego administrative law judge earlier this month for a suspension of Fakhoury's medical license. A Sept. 23 hearing is scheduled.
