A federal judge has excused more than 20 possible jurors in the trial of a Chicago businessman accused in the deadly 2008 Mumbai attacks.

A federal judge has excused more than 20 possible jurors in the trial of a Chicago businessman accused in the deadly 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Questions for would-be jurors at Tahawwur Rana's (tuh-HOW'-ur RAH'-nahz) trial have focused on Islam, terrorism and citizenship.

Rana is accused of providing cover for a former school classmate to scout out sites in Mumbai in the rampage that killed more than 160 people.

He's a Pakistani-born Muslim but has Canadian citizenship and had been living in Chicago legally for years.

One potential juror was dismissed after she said she was scared to be a juror for a terrorism case. Another man who suggested all terrorists are Muslims said he couldn't be fair to the defendant.

Twelve jurors and six alternates will be chosen from nearly 100.
