Two people were cleaning out a deceased relative’s Texas home when they found something unusual in a freezer: a decomposing body.

According to the El Paso Times, the body that was found in the Carlsbad home was first thought to be an animal, but a closer inspection proved that it was human.

The freezer was loaded into a pickup truck and driven to the Carlsbad Police Department, where it is now under investigation by the Eddy County Special Investigations Unit.

The body is still unidentified, but the Times reports that a source close to the investigation said it may be the husband of the deceased homeowner, who reportedly went missing in 1997.
